Biography

Federico GOBBO (1974) is full professor at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) by special appointment (in Dutch: bijzonder Hoogleraar) in Interlinguistics and Esperanto. He has been Visiting Professor at the University of Turin in Italy and at the Nanjing University in China. He participates in various EU-funded projects (MIME, LITHME, APPLY).

He got his PhD in Computer Science, defended in 2009 at the University of Insubria (Varese-Como, Italy), with a dissertation on constructive adpositional grammars (CxAdGrams).

His main research interests are Language Policy and Planning (in particular: Interlinguistics, Esperanto Studies, Contested Languages, Mobility and Multilingualism); Constructive Linguistics (in particular: Adpositional Argumentation, Language Acquisition in the Montessori Method); Philosophy of Ideas (in particular: Philosophy of Information). His publications appear in several languages, mainly in English, Italian, Esperanto (in order of importance).
